  Stir Fry

'Stir fry' is one of the most amazingly versatile dishes, and everything else can also be cooked like stir fry. .

We include it entirely for two reasons. First, it's inherently ad-hoc and experimental, and so can easily teach people who have no idea how to cook how to cook - make small batches, so if you don't like the last one you can just cook seconds.

Second, it's kind of old, and being versatile, can be used to cook anything.

  You will need three things...

 • Pan or griddle

 • Ingredients.

 • Some sort of spatula. to stir with.

The first thing you need to do is cut your ingredients into thin strips. Just about anything will work, see what combinations you like.

Heat up your pan and chuck them in. And stir.

This is where the fun part comes in. You can add any spices - get creative. You'll probably want to add salt. You can make different teas and use them to deglaze the pan. You can try adding a splash of one or more oils.

Get. Creative. The whole point of stir fry is to make it up as you go along... and to stir.

When it's done, heap it onto a plate, maybe on top of some noodles or steamed clover or wrapped in a tortilla or something, maybe not. See if it's any good.

If it's not, use different ingredients, spices, oils, and teas and broths for quenching and deglazing next time.

Practice makes perfect, and it's "make it up as you go along" which can teach you to cook. An entire complex stir fry can also be a single ingredient in something else, like a pizza or a sandwich.
