  Zero Waste, Zero Plastic

You pay to throw things in the trash without using them. You then work to make things that go directly into the trash. Perhaps in the interim, you get some advertising mail which goes directly into the trash.

Then your phone and computer autoupdate themselves entirely for the purpouse of turning themselves into a brick which goes in the trash. It wasn't doing this quickly enough, however, so Apple had to settle its lawsuit in 2020 over the fact that it, you know, deliberately degraded users' phones to make you buy a new one since, you know, they broke yours.

General Electric was found guilty of violating the antitrust act in 1949 because of their conspiracy to make sure that all light bulbs sold, by any manufacturer, would burn out sooner than they naturally would.

Also, some people suggest avoiding plastic because it turns into durable nanoparticles which lodge in your brain tissue and organs, but never really decomposes. Thankfully, reusable metal straws have come into existence (or you can use a length of bamboo), and you can get reusable cups that have lids, now. Bamboo and wood toothbrushes do exist.

Instead of plastic food storage containers, one usually uses metal tins...

...glass jars can also sometimes be used for food storage.

Most places use reusable cloth shopping bags, now, mostly because people were getting sick of escaped plastic bags flying around in the wind. Waxcloth can be made by ironing a little plant wax or beeswax into a bit of linen or hemp or whatever. As a bag, it can replace the disposables should one use bulk bins, or can replace plastic sandwich bags. As a sheet of waxcloth, it replaces plastic wrap.

Diapers are called "nappies" because if you take a cloth napkin and tie the corners, it forms a diaper, and while more elaborate cloth diapers definitely exist, several people were raised on this. Paper towels can be replaced with... a cloth rag.

Most prefer fleece squares for toilet paper, but a large amount of europe used a communal absorbent-pillow-on-a-stick in an all-gender communal restroom. Yes, literally. We'd choose the cloth.

On the off chance that you have a uterus - quit renting your own crotch for cash money. A sea sponge strung with a length of thread with a sewing needle isn't vegan or vegetarian, but it is reusable. So, too, are cloth pads.

Not paying money to throw things in the trash will give you a lot of basic life skills and reduce your helplessness. It will also keep you from going broke to do nothing but throw the product in the trash.
