  Seek out Culture

It is, in theory, fairly easy to immerse one's self in a learning environment. It may, however, take a small amount of effort, such as the use of a search engine or phone book.

Unless you truly live in a remote location, there is at least one symphony orchestra within a hundred miles of you, and probably several. There are usually one or more theatre companies in even the smallest of towns. There may be a professional ballet in your broad area. There may be a planetarium. Your local community college can probably be audited for less than the cost of taking the class; show up for the lectures, leave if they're not interesting. Local colleges also often have lectures open to the public about their general works, such as any interesting archaeology or palentology or works in astrophysics or whatever; you may wish to check their schedule.

You can look up museums in your broad area and decide if any are worth perusing. You could also travel cross-country as a hobo to visit the libraries of the world, if you so chose.

It takes a small to moderate amount of effort to seek out various lectures, concerts, planetarium showings, and the like. It is worth it. It does sometimes cost a moderate amount of money, which makes full immersion a difficult choice for the unemployed homeless, although there are sometimes free options. Compared to the cost of fast food, however, it is usually very affordable, and sometimes free. Give it a go.
